WAVE OF BURGLARIES HITS CALDICOT
There were five burglaries in one night in Caldicot on 14 January. Two houses were broken into in Green Lane plus one each in Swan Court, Budden Crescent and Goldfinch Close. In addition, a house in Deepweir was burgled sometime between 12th and 16th January. Police appealed for anybody who sees anything suspicious to call 101 or 999 if they see a burglary in progress.

CALDICOT BURGLAR JAILED
Richard Simmonds was jailed for two years and five months after being found guilty of breaking into a property in Castle Lea. He was caught running away from the scene after a member of the public alerted the police.  Simmonds already had a series of convictions to his name.

HOUSE PRICE WATCH
The cheapest house advertised on www.rightmove.co.uk for sale in Caldicot at the end of December 2016 was a two bedroom terraced house in Sandy Lane at £134,500. The most expensive was a four bedroom detached house in Heol Glaslyn at £369,000.
