NEW PARKING SCHEME IN PLACE FOR NEW YEAR
It was announced that the new parking permit scheme for Caldicot town centre would be in place for January 2015. Permits had been issued to businesses with no rear entrances, allowing vehicles to deliver before 10.30am and after 4.30pm and new signs were shortly to be installed.

A CONVENIENT AGREEMENT
Caldicot Town council reached agreement with Monmouthshire County Council to take over the public toilets in Jubilee Way. Under the agreement, MCC would upgrade the toilets, at an estimated cost of £40,000, and make a one-off payment of £6000 towards the first year’s running costs.

CASTLE IN WEDDING PARTNERSHIP
Caldicot Castle began working in partnership with other attractions in Monmouthshire, including the Old Station at Tintern, the Shire Hall at Monmouth and Abergavenny Castle, to develop a coordinated wedding package. The aim was to increase the number of weddings booked at the various venues.

PAIR JAILED
David Samuel (22) of Caldicot and Christopher Hill (25) formerly of Caldicot were both sentenced to 18 month terms of imprisonment after pleading guilty to breaking into a house and stealing two cars.
