CALDICOT MAN MISSING
Police and volunteers were searching an area close to the edge of Dartmoor for Caldicot man Joel Andrews, aged 24, who went missing after attending a rave nearby on 22 May (see July).

NEW MANAGER AT CALDICOT TOWN
Following the resignation of Simon Wetter and the relegation of Caldicot Town from Divion One of the Welsh League, the football club have appointed Mike Dowler as their new manager. Dowler, who was born in Caldicot, was a professional goalkeeper who started his career with Newport County before moving to play in the USA.

HOUSE PRICE WATCH
The cheapest property advertised in the local press for sale in Caldicot at the end of June 2011 was a one bedroom flat at Grove House near the Cross at £94,950.  The cheapest house was a one-bedroom link house in Stafford Road at £99,950. The most expensive was Dewstow House and gardens at  £1.9 million! The gardens at Dewstow contain a series of underground grottoes which the present owners renovated and turned into a tourist attraction.

CRIME WATCH
The online “crime map” published by the Home Office showed that in May 2011 there were 55 reported incidents in Caldicot.  (www.police.uk)
